I have a 98 Cherokee Sport and have never done any off roading. I am trying to figure out what kind of mods I should start with to get my jeep off the road. Can anyone help me decide where I should start please?

Honestly, I'd take your rig out "as-is" to see what it can do. You'd be surprised at the capabilities of a bone-stock rig. After you've been out once or twice, you'll have a better idea of what kind of wheeling you want to do, and what upgrades are needed to get there.
